The Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality (ODEQ) and Oklahoma State University College of Engineering, Architecture and Technology (CEAT) Professional Development are partnering to provide a seminar designed for small quantity generators of hazardous waste. The Small Quantity Generator (SQG) Certificate Program was developed and presented by Dr. Kenneth Ede, PhD., CHMM, with Oklahoma State University; and Ryan Kirk with ODEQ.
The Small Quantity Generator (SQG) Certificate Program is a customized course that is designed to help participants better understand hazardous waste regulations and provides participants current knowledge of liability and corporate exposure(s) associated with hazardous wastes. Participants will review generator classifications & liability, accumulation, TSDF’s record-keeping and reporting, and land disposal restrictions. We will also explore recycling and disposal methods, and examine the 5 conditions of wastes, used oils, and disposal of empty Containers. Participants will gain strategies on how to remain "small quantity generators".
